It's just a small spot in the Pacific Ocean. Easy to miss on a map. Yet on this tiny island called Oahu is a magnificent community called Kailua.
It is an unspoiled mix of white sand beaches, quant houses, and lovely downtown shops. You should visit Kailua if:
You love perfect Hawaiian weather with a cool trade wind always blowing.
You enjoy surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, or snorkeling.
You are inspired by gorgeous scenery and friendly locals.
You prefer peace and quiet to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.
You like wearing nothing but your swimsuit.
Let me say this. Kailua is incredible. It is so simple, and everyone is nice. I could rave and rave, but more than anything what I love about Kailua is that it allows you the time and space to take a breather, step back from your normal life, and ask yourself "Am I doing what God wants me to be doing? Do I need to make changes and, if so, what do those changes look like? Am I happy doing what I'm doing day in and day out and if not, why not?"
Seriously, if you ever make a trip to Oahu, don't pass up a chance to visit my home town. It's a great excuse to spend lots of time with the Lord!
