What I'm Doing Today

Race Prepping: Today I trained for Saturday's 10K race. I did 6 miles. In case you didn't know, that's 10K.

Listening to: A podcast about a new digital map of the Antietam battlefield. J. N. Miller was my great-great-great-grandfather. The battle took place just to the west of his farm in the cornfield of David Miller, his brother.

And here's where my ancestors worshiped -- the "Dunkard" (= Dunker) Church. Yes, they were German Baptists and pacifists to boot.

Anticipating: My trip to Hawaii in July. This will be my first visit to my hometown of Kailua since Covid.

See the house where I grew up?

This will be my view every morning. Poor me.

Enjoying: Lunch at the local Mennonite bakery. Where else can you get fresh homemade vegetable soup along with a delicious chicken salad sandwich?

Avoiding: Negativity. Like the plague.

What are you doing today?
