In Eph. 4:2, Paul says that we should be humble and gentle, patiently bearing with one another. This might alternatively be translated, "enduring one another." It's a huge relief to me to know that Paul is a realist about church life. This frees us from the hypocritical need to think that I or anyone else is perfect. Perfect people don't need to be endured. But we do. We know only too well that there are gaping holes in the fabric of our sanctification.
Let's be patient with each other today, shall we?
