A Thirst for Knowledge

Know what? You don't know what you don't know.

Didn't know that, or did you?

When it comes to the amount of knowledge there is versus the amount of knowledge you can possibly have, we're all ignorant. Even if you're an "expert" in your field, you're ignorant of most things.

This means there will never be a time when things like homework, studying, and researching will be unnecessary. You don't know what you don't know until you know that.

Every time I open my Bible I feel like a small child wading on the shore of a limitless ocean. There is a limit to the amount of knowledge we can have. Some people are good at certain subjects, but they cannot have unlimited knowledge of it. Basically, I think that was what Paul was trying to say in 1 Cor. 8:2. There is a lot more to know.

But here's the good news. If you're stuck, grab a book and read it. Ask why and how a lot. Research things that seem foreign to you. I'm going to do that a lot more in 2026. These two books just arrived from Amazon.

I've got two more on order. Every day I wake up with a quenchless thirst for knowledge. I want to better myself this year and learn new things. No, I don't want to learn everything about everything. But when something attracts my interest, I would love to delve into it.

Above all, I love my daily check-ins with Jesus by reading the word and a time in prayer. It changes your character. It has changed me and is changing me. To be transformed, believers need to be deeply rooted in the Scriptures.

What are your reading goals for the new year?

What new subjects are you interested in pursuing?

Do you eat spiritual food every day?
