Play the Long Game

Hello again,

Everyone wants fast results. I do. You do. We all do. Every commercial promises it. Youtubers guarantee it. There are ways, for example, to lose weight fast. They don't work in the long run because they're simply not sustainable. 

No, you can't learn Greek in 30 days. 

Nor can you get in shape in a few months. It took me 10 months to lose 40 pounds. And I'm only 2/3rds of the way to my weight loss goals. Changes have been incremental but sustainable. It started with my eating habits and my lifestyle. It involved cutting out processed foods, managing stress, getting enough sleep (last night I literally slept for 10.5 hours), and eating nutritionally balanced meals without snacking. For the first time in my life I feel confident that I will eventually reach my goal and stay there. Each and every today I strive to make improvements to my health and appreciate what my body is doing for me. 

If you find yourself frustrated that your weight isn't coming off fast enough, you simply need to stay focused and stay the course. I'm not giving up on myself, and day to day consistency is how I'm doing it and will continue to do it! 

This is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't be discouraged and keep at it!
