The Bible was written to reveal truth, not obscure it. God surely intends that we understand it. Hence, understanding the Bible is vital because our doctrines of God, man, salvation, and future things (to name but four) rest on a correct hermeneutic.
Every word of Scripture is worthy of the reader's sweat.
