The Blessing of Activity
Lord willing, I will get back to the gym tomorrow for the first time in 6 days. Every lifter recognizes that regular weight training reduces stress. If we miss three or four days in a row, we begin to feel antsy. We sense that physical activity positively impacts a number of biological as well as psychological mechanisms. We live in a world that seems to spin faster and faster every day. Lifting (or running or walking, etc.) offers us a blessed time-out. We can unplug, chill out, regroup. And that is a blessing.
