As I type these words the temperature is 68 degrees. It's the month of February, for crying out loud. But hey, I'm not complaining. I managed to get in not one but two workouts this morning. First of all, I did cardio at the gym for an hour and 20 minutes. Ran in place. With weights. Plus 10 sets of pullups. Yes, I was tired afterwards.
Little secret: Let music pace you. Here's part of my playlist for when I run indoors.
The best song for running in place? Ride Like the Wind by Christopher Cross. I kid you not. I could run forever with this song playing in my ears.
Then I ran for 3 miles at the local trail (sans music).
For the next 4 days we're expecting rain, so it felt great to be outdoors in today's nearly perfect weather.
What a whirlwind this morning was. Time to get some writing done at the farm and then take a long nap. In two weeks I leave for Texas, si Dios quiere. I know you think I'm going to talk about the value of marathoning or something of that nature, but you are WRONG. It's not like I get carried away with running or anything like that. Besides, who wants to be bored to death by Dave rattling on about his athletic exploits?
Things are definitely looking up on this blog.
