One day in chapel several years ago the speaker's topic was prayer. It was a very convicting message. One of the points he made is something I had never heard before. In essence he said, "Prayer is not a 'convenient' time to have the musicians retake the stage after the sermon. When the pastor is closing his message in prayer, ALL should be praying, including the worship leaders. After all, doesn't the application of the message affect them as much as anybody else?"
I will never forget what happened next. The president of our seminary announced that from that day forward the musicians would remain seated while the chapel speaker closed in prayer as a reminder of the importance and solemnity of prayer and the universal application of the message. It's been that way ever since.
Think about it.
