Nobody is born to read New Testament Greek, nor is anyone born to run ultramarathons. What separates everyone from finishers is not talent or genetic giftedness but the ability (in the case of runners) to put in the boring miles that never show up on anyone's feed or (in the case of Greek students) to maintain the commitment to the language even when your motivation has left the building.
