This my 50th year of teaching. I never take it for granted. Every week I'm given the privilege of doing what I love. Teaching is hard work because it's heart work. You pour your whole life into your work. Paul says as much in Rom. 12:7. In the words of the Living Bible, "If you are a teacher, do a good job of it." Phillips renders it this way: "Let us give all we have to our teaching." Every spiritual gift requires good stewardship. This includes:
- Discovering your gift.
- Developing your gift.
- Exercising your gift correctly in the body of Christ.
Take a moment and reflect:
Which spiritual gift or gifts has God entrusted to you?
How effectively are you at using those gifts to serve and honor him?
Are you doing your work in his strength and not your own?
Teachers don't just impact classrooms. They impact the world.
