Getting the Punctuation Right

Did you know that these verses are in the Bible?

"Let him who stole steal. No more let him work with his hands" (Eph. 4:28).

"I would not have you, ignorant brethren" (Rom. 1:13).

Of course, I've butchered the punctuation here. These verses should read, "Let him stole steal no more," and "I would not have you ignorant, brethren." "But," you say, "since our earliest copies of the New Testament lacked punctuation for the most part, how can we know for sure what is correct?"

Simple:

1. Follow the editorial decisions of the editors of your Greek New Testament. They are usually correct.

2. Context, context, context! An atheist and a believer will read these words differently!

So as you dive into God's word for yourself, don't worry too much about the punctuation.
