Blessing couples in a sinful relationship doesn't seem like it would lead to repentance. How much more clear does Scripture need to be? Just be obedient to Jesus. If I am an alcoholic and seek a blessing from my pastor, it is with the intent to stop drinking and turn from my sin. The question here is: will these couples seeking a blessing from the Church walk away from their blessing encouraged to end the relationship or continue in it because it's been "blessed" by a priest?
