I woke up this morning eager to get back to the gym and work on leg exercises and do some stretching. It's an exciting time for me. I think I'm getting better but I still have so much to learn.
Time and again, life feels like ascending an unfamiliar ridgeline, unsure if it will go through or cliff out. It can be kind of scary but it can also be invigorating.
Eventually, the unfamiliar becomes familiar, and familiar terrain, though a bit less exciting, has a pleasure in its own right. For me, the goal is not just to have only one thing in life -- either the old and the familiar, or the new and the unfamiliar -- but both, because each one leads to the other, and the aggregate has its own unique joy.
Embracing change in life can be hard, but just because it's hard doesn't mean it's bad. The winter of life is a great time to embrace change, not fight it.
Have a wonderful day!
