Today I listened to a sermon in German titled (in English) "Hearing God's Voice Made Simple." The speaker said there were four steps involved:
1. Finding a quiet place.
2. Turning your eyes upon Jesus.
3. Paying attention to any spontaneous thoughts.
4. Writing them down.
You can test these thoughts against Scripture at some other time, he said. Incredible words.
Personally, I would not recommend this. It's only by focusing on God's word that we can think God's thoughts instead of our own. It's only through his Spirit that we can find divine direction. I believe the Lord will honor any Bible reading method that upholds prayer and that promotes his word.
It matters greatly how we hear God's voice.
