I'm sorry if you get tired of my marathon training details. I have to say, this training block has been time-consuming, though in a good sort of way. I find it fascinating how the body can adapt to different activities, from running to biking to swimming. Today I did a 1,000-meter swim at the Y.
Yep, it was so much fun to be swimming again!
Honestly, I've missed lap swimming. Overall, I will say that my swimming form hasn't lost much despite the hiatus I took during Covid. I am so ready to do another triathlon. Thus far I've only done 5, all of them a sprint distance. But I would really like to try an Olympic triathlon this year or next year. This involves a 1.5K swim, a 27 mile bike, and a 10K run.
Obviously I have a lot more training to do before I can handle all that mileage. But I'm always looking for a new challenge, and now that I can swim laps again I'm hoping to improve my swimming pace and speed.
Tonight I am going to try and find an Olympic triathlon I can sign up for. I'll fill you in soon.
