Am I rusty? I sure am. I haven't done a triathlon in over two years. You're feeling good, you've got lots of energy, then you get out of the water and you go -- "Wait, what am I supposed to do now?" So here's my list of things to do in Transition 1 (swim to bike).
I have to memorize it before race day and basically try to ignore the people nearest to me. It's all about formulating a race plan and then executing it rather than trying to wing it on race day.
Today I'm also putting together my gear list and then start packing everything. The goal is to bring to the race only what you need. It's also a good idea to practice your transitions. But am I disciplined enough to do that?
Final training schedule:
Wednesday: 10 mile bike.
Thursday: 1,000 meter swim.
Saturday: Off to Luray, VA!
