Final Words, Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)

I love listening to sermons from Summit Denver. This is one of the best messages I've ever heard on the Great Commission from Matthew's Gospel.:

Final Words, Great Commission.

A few quotes:

"All of life is one of going, after being commissioned by the authoritative reign and rule of King Jesus."

"Already this week, what God has sovereignly chosen is to entrust you with a sphere of influence of people that you can impact in obedience to this."

"That you have been sent by Jesus means that you can see people and engage people as Jesus saw and engaged people."

These are just some of the highlights from Bryan Barley's message. I could not be more full of anticipation about what God is doing and going to do in the greater Denver area because his people there are going and calling others to follow Jesus in obedience and love.

What's next? I hope you too will be cognizant of your own privilege and responsibility in opening the gospel to those around you. William Temple once said, "The church is the only society on earth that exists for the benefit of non-members." Jesus defines the task of the church for us here. I have taken my vow to follow Jesus in my work as a full-time missionary. I will not take myself or my church or any organization too seriously. I will take God's mission and our vocation in it with grave seriousness.

Thank you, Bryan, for this reminder.
