More Takeaways from the Williams New Testament

From my Bible time this morning in Luke 10:25-28:

I especially enjoyed these two rather nuanced renderings from the Williams NT:

You must love the Lord your God .... (v. 27).

In Greek we have the imperatival future -- so that "You will" really means "You must."

Continue to do this, and you will live (v. 28).

Here we find what's called imperfective aspect -- not just "do this" but "keep on doing this as a habit of life."

Non-Greek readers will, I think, benefit tremendously from owning a copy of Williams!
