First Presbyterian Church of Durham played host this evening to what is perhaps the Triangle's premier vocal group.
It's been a while since I've heard the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Durham.
The venue and musical selections were both outstanding.
The choir's repertoire is mostly a cappella, which only makes sense when you realize that the most beautiful musical instrument God ever made is the human voice. Tonight the VAE performed traditional French and English Christmas carols, as well as German songs and one in Latin. Love this choir! Such rich harmonies! Such rich messages! So NOT Santa Claus! These carols never lose their appeal and beauty. Bravo!
